What Would Webby Do (WWWD):

Date: Tuesday, March 30th, 2021

Overview: Rather quiet day with respect to volume on the SPX and Nasdaq Composite, coming in at nearly the second lowest of the year so far for SPX and lowest of the year for COMPQ. Definite ‘decoupling’ action today, which would be day 1 of this action in growth. Decoupling is defined by Ray as action where the majority of tickers on the TL Tracked WLs don’t care about Index action and are acting on their own merit. Otherwise, was a nothing day.

Facts: -0.11%, 80% closing range on decreasing and below average volume.

Good: S&P closes above TL Daily Plan bolded pivot of $3920. There were names (SI ABNB ASO SLQT CLNE AMKR to name a few) that outperformed and traded on their own compared to the action in the overall market. This would be day 1 and is encouraging action after growth has been destroyed the past couple of weeks. Looking for more of this as we close the week. Markets also fought a sell off into the close, whereas last week multiple sessions saw a complete rollover into close. This again would act as character change and is constructive. We are also getting tighter closes on lower volume on individual names, which would imply that some sort of directional movement is coming.

Bad: Volume on some of these moves today was incredibly low, which is a little worrisome if it means demand isn’t actually that strong and there just wasn’t that much supply being brought to market today. Nasdaq is still well below all KMAs, as is IWM.

Candle: Small size positive body, tiny upper wick with longer lower tail.

Expectation: Sideways/Higher

Webby’s Really Simple Indicator (RSI): 0.00%
